For instance, an upper endoscopy typically takes around 15-30 minutes to complete, where a thin tube with a camera is inserted through your mouth to examine your esophagus and stomach. On the other hand, a colonoscopy may take longer, usually lasting between 30 minutes to an hour or more.
For most cases of acute gastroenteritis, which is often caused by viral or bacterial infections, the best course of action is usually rest and staying hydrated. This means drinking plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and letting your body fight off the infection.
