An Anti HCV test is a blood test that looks for the presence of antibodies in your bloodstream that are specific to the Hepatitis C virus. The test works by detecting these antibodies, which are produced by your immune system when it detects the presence of HCV.
Hepatitis C is an infection that can go undetected for a long period as most people do not develop any symptoms in the initial stages.
